Summer is off to a WONDERFUL start

So excited right now to be writing this blog post. I have needed to get back into blogging. I actually really enjoy writing them and I know that at least some of my friends and family members enjoy reading them (mostly just my grandma...but I'm okay with that :)) This summer is going to be one to remember and so far it has not let me down.

School is out. I just finished grading my last final essay for the class I TA for. My grades are coming in and to be honest, I am pleasantly surprised with the end result of the semester. I am blessed with a full time job on campus during the break and just received a pay raise. And yesterday, I received an email informing me that I have been granted a scholarship!!!
It was completely unexpected and such a wonderful blessing.

Brent and I have had to take a few student loans out since we have been married and I have been determined to not take out any more. After doing the math, I knew that it was going to be tight this year. We would really have to save every single penny if we wanted to pay for tuition and everything without taking out a loan. The scholarship seriously could not have come at a better time. Here is why:

Since General Conference, Brent and I have both realized that there are some things that we would like to do better and change. For me, it has been realizing that I need to make Heavenly Father the number one priority in my life. Doing this has the potential to change every aspect of my life for the better. So, I asked Heavenly Father to help me attain my worthy goals and that I would start to really implement a habit of personal scripture study, meaningful fasting, and sincere personal prayer as well as family prayer. I hadn't been putting in 100% effort into these simple things and made the dedication to change. And of course my goal to not take any loans is going to be 100% possible.

Answer to a prayer? I think yes :)

Because of the scholarship, we will have a little breathing room with our finances; we'll actually be able to do  a few fun things here and there and take advantage of Summer in Provo! Which brings me to my next post which I promise to write tomorrow. (Drumroll please.....) My Summer Bucketlist. I have been thinking about this long and hard and have come up with a list that I am pleased to announce to the world wide web tomorrow. Stay tuned :)
